Grey Flavio Poli Murano Bowl
A small masterwork of Murano glassblowing, this sommerso catchall was handcrafted in Italy in the 1960s and likely designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d’Arte — the Venetian house that helped define mid-century Italian glass.
The sommerso technique (Italian for “submerged”) layers molten glass of different colors without mixing them, creating a suspended halo of smoky grey within the clear body. Depth from nothing but light and craft.
Use it as a ring dish, coin catch, or small vessel on a desk, nightstand, or bar cart. A quiet object with a serious pedigree.
Circa 1960s, Italy. Measures 3.25” square x 2” high.
