Baobab Bowl by Nur Ceramics
Inspired by the majestic Baobab tree which is native to the African savannah and is an icon of the African continent. This prehistoric tree is knowns as ‘The Tree of life’ and predates mankind as well as the splitting of the continents. Baobab trees can live up to 5,000 years and are a symbol of strength, presence, and grace.
The Glaze
The outside glaze is a matte, opaque white glaze that allows some the white clay’s natural speckling to be revealed. The inside glaze is a shino made with Red Iron Oxide. The rim is left unglazed to express a unique blush-colored reaction that takes place through the meeting of the outside and inside glazes.
Care Instruction
Food Safe. To guarantee the longevity of this piece, it is best to avoid placing it in the dishwasher or microwave. Clean with soap, water, and sponge.
